Savage To Cumulus

guess he will have to end his feud with Mark Levin. 6 to 9 pm west coast time, there goes the glass of wine and dining time, i guess

Betchelor could be moved to 1am-5am on WABC and other stations that would like to jettison that horrid trucking show. Batchelor's show doesn't rely on phone calls so he could record it whenever. A time shift of a few hours wouldn't make much difference.

Was there ever a "non-compete clause" in Michael Weiner's (also known as Michael Savage) contract with the Talk Radio Network? If so, was it supposed to last one year after the end of the contract with the Talk Radio Network (the director of programming for one of his former stations mentioned a "non-compete clause" during a local radio program)?

looks like it worked out for Savage if he can rebuild stations..he is back on in SF and that is important to him

I wonder if the non compete was for any particular time slot. Seems to be Savage wanted to be on earlier but his new time is 3 hours later than it was with Talk Radio.

That said, it appears many stations feel he is more of a late night attraction as a lot of stations delayed him for later on in the evening. This way he will be late night on the East coast and evening on the West coast.

It will be interesting to see how the last hour goes as he has played taped interviews in the last hour usually for some time now.

I am listening to Savage right now on WJR Detroit. He is on 10-Midnight M-F.

WJR is 50kW station which reaches far at night.

It is streaming on the tunein app. If you go to the site and search for Savage you will find a few stations that stream with local times listed.

WRONG!

Though callers are not part of Batchelor's show, it is LIVE weeknights. He dumped in and out of the debate last night during his broadcast.

A time shift for him would make a huge difference.....

On WJR's website Savage is listed on the schedule 11 pm till 1 am.

You are correct, I was looking at the Tunein website, not the WJR site. They do have Savage listed 11-1 on WJR.

Most sites like Tunein list times in eastern. I should have checked more carefully and not assumed it was eastern time, it was indeed showing central time.

I said, "much difference." Sometimes breaking news happens between 9pm and 1am, but not every night. Live is always better, but it's not always possible.

First off, that "horrid trucking show" is a Cumulus property that makes them money hand over fist. Have you ever heard the advertisements in it?? There is no way Atlanta lets ANYONE dump that show. Secondly, the Batchelor Show is not a Cumulus "cash cow". Third, Now with Savage, the Batchelor Show is excess baggage. Forth, I have heard from someone who use to be associated with the Batchelor Show that he and his producer have made no friends with either the network folks or the sales folks...not a good prescription for longevity in a company like Cumulus! I predict that as soon as contracts and or required affiliate notifications run out, the Batchelor Show will be out and Savage will be plugged into that day part on the network's schedule.
