Heard Michael Savage today say that he will be taking over Hannity's slot on Cumulus. Any truth to that. I know I did hear Hannity say a few weeks ago that Cumulus only makes up 40 stations but there are some major stations with Cumulus including his home station.

Savage to Mid Day/Drive?

Savage isn't exactly known for making accurate claims when it comes to stuff like this.
Why would he want to do that, Hannity will keep almost all of his 500+ stations.
Savage is not an afternoon drive host, he is a good night host. This will further hurt Cumulus stations by mandating a Geraldo/Huckabee/Savage lineup.
It may be mitigated by keeping Rush but Savage for Hannity is a disaster.

It's also been reported that Cumulus is looking for local talent. I would expect that in markets where they find local talent, local talent will take over PM drive.
Cumulus might - might - produce Savage's show earlier in the day and offer it to stations which for whatever reason don't do a local show in PM drive. In this scenario, Savage would do PM drive (or midday in the West) on smaller stations, and his show would be heard in the evening in larger markets, as it is now.

I guarantee those "only 40 stations" hold vast the majority of his audience. His top 5 market stations, in descending DMA order, are WABC, KABC, WLS, KSFO, and WBAP - ALL Cumulus stations.
Hannity is so done with Cumulus it isn't funny! He is now a huge problem for CC as if he loses his Rush lead in he is finished. I believe that Savage said that because he had the word form the Dickeys so I would not be surprised if it happens. Local Talent???? Ha, that costs money and this is Cumulus we are speaking of!! I would not be surprised to see Savage @ 3 Eastern and Huckabee getting Market 1 out of the deal!
Hannity has trouble when Republican goes after Republican, Savage revels in the discord. More of a moderator than a content provider Hannity needs guests, trouble with guests you can lose an audience in a hurry with guests. People tune in to hear Savage or Limbaugh, not Newt or Ann Coulter etc. So when a guest comes on that someone dislikes they flip the dial, losing 25 to 50 % of the listeners. Also, Hannitys Fox tie in might be going south too, the cross promotion must help somewhat.
Hannity is going to have a problem with the loss of Rush as a leadin. It's huge.
