Savage to replace O'Reilly?

820 is running promos that Savage will replace O'Reilly. Interesting change. Wonder what will replace Savage? They need to do something to get some ratings. Not sure Savage is it.
 
As a listener, I am virtually certain that Savage is NOT it. His ranting is virtually unstomachable now, but it is at a time slot where the truly dedicated can seek him out if that's what floats your boat. At 12-2, it won't even be live.

I found O'Reilly a generally even-handed and thoughtful approach. It was something I could put on in the office and get no weird looks from employees or customers, no matter what their political persuasion. Dave Ramsey's non-political show allowed talk to stay on throughout most of the afternoon. Now the office radio will have to go back to music...

If radio insiders were programming this, what non-political, mildly liberal, or even handed syndicated talk could you suggest? Genesis, are YOU listening?
 
Yeah, I heard the same promo too. I hope it's a joke.
I don't hate Savage. I haven't listened for a while, but don't usually have the radio on at that time, maybe once a week or so. He's not a monster.

I agree that O'Reilly's show is great, and more even-handed.

I was thinking they could put Laura Ingraham on 12-2, run Ramsey 2-4, and add Lou Dobbs 4-6.

If not Dobbs, then bring in a good strong local host for p.m. drive.
 
There is rumor that Savage is considering moving to a 12-3p live feed to go head to head against Rush. I think TRN rolled out the three hour pre-feed to test that.

Not sure if that time slot works well...I actully like Savage but I like it when I am driving around in my car at night...not at lunch!
