Savage Update

Never heard from Roy. TRN is owned and run by Mark Masters, his son. He's the guy the talent like Savage and Laura dealt with, and the one Savage had a running battle with. I'm sure having Roy on his show was just to stroke Mark. I only heard Mark on the show a couple times, and it was a call in after they re-signed a deal.

Re: Savage Set For His Radio Return - He Will Own The Nights!

thought he was going to be on at the dinner hour in SF?

True Savage says he hates lawyers but he sued twice. One for the UK Incident and another attorney for the TRN inc incident.

That's typical hypocrasy that we probably all suffer from. It's easy to say "all lawyers are sharks" and that, for example, medical malpractice damage awards need to be limited to save the healthcare system. But when you (meaning any of us) go septic after our surgery is botched, we want to make sure we get every penny we are entitled to- not just for future medical needs, but for our 'pain and suffering.'

Can you quote what was said that's racist?

I don't have all day to waste my time quoting this midget pigs trash but here's one for you.

May 12th Savage Nation Anti Arab Rant

"In fact, Christianity has been one of the great salvations on planet Earth. It's what's necessary in the Middle East. Others have written about it, I think these people need to be forcibly converted to Christianity but I'll get here a little later, I'll move up to that. It's the only thing that can probably turn them into human beings."

If this was an actual quote, Dr. Savage was referring to radical extremists using their religion as an excuse to perform inhuman acts.

Do you believe the rape of journalists, like the recent French reporter, or Gaddafi, is a humane act?

Is it human to strap a bomb to yourself and blow up innocent women and children?

I disagree with "forcing" anyone to convert to any religion.

Dr. Savage was using satire to redicule those who use force to convert infadels to Islam. After all, the radical extremist's reasoning to kill all Amercans, the great satan, and Israel, the little satan, is our reluctance to convert. Why do leftists support those who would perform these acts?

Can you explain, intelligently, why there is an alliance between leftists and Extreme Islamic Regimes?

Yes because everybody in the Middle east behaves this way. The problem with you and your Hero Weiner, is the generalization of everybody based on the actions of a few. It's also funny how you all refer to this hack as "Dr." as if it makes his racism and trash more valid. He's PhD is in Nutrition, not Poly Sci, not Psychology, Not Bio. NUTRITION. His education has no relevance to any of his discussion about politics.

Michael is more educated than any talent in radio. He earned his Phd. from a distiguished Bay Area university. ::)

I don't hate those that achieve success.

It's very sad your hatred for his opinions makes it impossible to talk about his "show" without attacking him personally. As said before in this thread, it "entertainment".

LOL good for him, I see his cult following as made it on message boards. I don't just hate his opinion I hate him as a person. I hate all racist trash, considering he gets fired all the time I'm not the only one offended by the garbage he spews. Continue your support of an open bigot, you act like an advanced degree is impossible to achieve. You must not think highly of yourself.

Fellow right wing conservative talk host Jim Eason disliked Savage intensely, and had a hard time hiding it when he was on the air on KSFO. IIRC, Savage's show followed Eason's in the afternoons. Eason is credited with coining the perjorative "Savage Weiner."

Savage called Eason a "fossil" in radio, Eason had another term for Savage, which I forgot... I guess they were arguing about who used what chair in the studio according to Ben Fong Torres. And of course Mark Levin and Savage have a feud going on as well as Savage and Limbaugh are trading bards.

I remember when Dr. Bill Watenberg (who now has a show on TRN) and fired talk show host Lee Rodgers (off the air now contract dropped 4 1/2 months early) got into it over "American vs. Japanese cars." DR Wattenberg contended that the preventative maintenance schedule of Japanese cars made them less of a deal than American cars (timing belt changes etc.) Rodgers said the Japanese cars were better because "he rode in one in Australia once."

[Whatever, a PhD in Physics (Watenberg PHD Berkley)verses a record spinner (Rodgers HS diploma, maybe), who would have a better argumentation?]

So the the old addedge "what do you get when you put 2 conservative talk show hosts in a studio? An argument!

Steven...there are a number of hosts that also have doctoral degrees...some from Harvard, Yale, and Stanford. Savage is a very bright man (who also has two Master's Degrees as I recall) but he's not necessarily the smartest man in talk radio. I know one with a doctorate on the left that probably can put him away...he has a virtually encyclopedic memory for facts, events, and dates.

Savage-Weiner also claimed to have a Phd In UC Berkeley. Hey I read one of Savage-Weiner's book in the 1970's and he promoted the use of Pot.

Not to get too off topic, but in the 60s and 70s the counter culture people were somewhat pro-gun and anti government. "Finding your place in the Country" was a best seller. So live on your own and stay away from the government. Government was the draft and the war and spying on people. Now the right has sort of adopted that government is bad agenda.

The old saying was: "Long hair could not hide a red neck" Savage was in that era, do it your self healthcare, beer is good, herbs, plants, no big Pharma. He was always out to market a book or some herbal remedy.

I bet a good number of Savage listeners are ex-hippies.
Savage had a pony tail and wore sandals when he started in radio.

There are probably a few ex-hippies that have become right-wing conservatives, but I'd speculate that the numbers are very small. Any hippies I knew that had guns (generally rifles) had them because they lived off the land and hunted for food. Generally, hippies tended toward socialism, and were much more anti-corporation than anti-government. I live in a San Francisco neighborhood with a lot of ex-hippies and counter-culture types - mostly retired now. Most are left wing, politicially.

It's well known that Mr. Weiner was a beatnik type in the late 50s and early 60s - corresponded with Alan Ginsberg, and liked to hang out with the Ferlinghetti crowd. I'd assume that Savage's current political outlook is a more recent development, and he wasn't espousing right wing views in those days. Just because he used to wear a ponytail means nothing. It's a look - that's all.

Starting sometime in the 70s, as the hippie fad was fading in urban areas, long hair got to be a popular look among more "redneck" crowds - I always assumed because country music singers (Oak Ridge Boys, etc.) started wearing long hair. This had nothing to do with hippies.

Didn't Savage-Weiner have a promo on KSFO that said "To the Right of Rush and to the Left of God" DUring his Local PM drives day on 560AM?
