I cannot believe they launched the new facebook page simply by changing the name of the original one and keeping all 10K likes. I suppose it's smart in getting the word out but their facebook page is full of what you probably would expect ..... HATE!
It's a shame about JT. Hopefully he can bounce back at some point. As for the format change. Not sure it was the best move. As Alan Jackson sang about. It would seem L&L has gone country lol...
I think a well thought out Classic Country format could work out well, but not what I heard yesterday. I do not get a reliable signal from 92.3 ... can anyone tell me if they've changed their format yet?
I was in the Lowcountry and caught the flip. Big 98.3 when I got there, Hank when I left. I wonder if Hank is a long weekend stunt, for a new format to come Tuesday? This thing will tank.
At least there's 104.9 The Surf. They sound pretty decent. I remember those jingles from CBS-FM in NYC in the 2000s, and even Y-102.5 in Charleston in the early-mid 2000s. Classic JAMS Oldies/classic hits package. Will Big be very missed?
The thing is that there's already 3 country signals in the Savannah area, 96.5, 106.9, and 92.3 (who plays the same classic country), plus 94.5 in Baxley, 102.5 and 104.1 in Brunswick, 105.5 in Jesup, 95.9 in Dublin, plus the fringe signals out of Charleston and Jacksonville, making it a crowded country market.
There's no oldies channel for south Georgia now, and they had a few fringe listeners in the northern part of Jacksonville market. That's a big hole now.
100.7 in Brunswick (WMUV) also plays country, and their signal overlaps a lot with 98.3 to the south of Savannah. They played classic country until earlier this year.
Classic country makes absolutely no sense on 98.3.
