You may not have even known about its flip to BA Smooth Jazz in 2007. At least there were no jobs lost. When an all-BA Network affilitate drops you've got a problem. I can't keep track of the markets lost since last year. It used to be I tried to keep up with the markets won. Immediately to mind comes Indianapolis, Denver, Washington, Savannah, New York, Houston. But look for gains as far as additional clearance for Philly, Las Vegas and maybe an untouchable or two. Cleveland? You'll know when it happens. BA's got to shout it out louder now.
 
The Savannah stations was owned by the same group that owns the Jacksonville station. TAMA broadcasting, which is a cluster of stations that were purchased by two guys who talked big and reeled in some investors but turned out to be totally inept as opearators of radio stations. I don't think I've ever heard more than one non-network spot on that station since it went on in 2003 back when they had decent ratings as a Jones affiliate. The investors have brought in outside people to oversee the stations but some TAMA folk linger. Fact is they will probably all be sold within the next year and flip to whatever formats marginal signals can survive on, satellite delivered of course.. I'm thinkin' True Oldies for Jacksonville because there are so many folks squakin' about wanting an oldies station here. but at least an hour ago when I drove home from work the Jax station was still SJ.

I was in that market back when that frequency went on the air. No coverage at all, plus TAMA does no marketing or promotion for either of their SJ stations. They had Gospel in Jax until it became obvious that Clear Channel was going to do it. Then they flipped to Spanish..They have one station in GA that has changed format 6 times since they bought it.

This company doesn't seem to know how to do radio at all. WJSJ has flipped so much in the past years. I remember when it was hot AC as "Mix 105." I never got to hear Mix but have that logo and a business card too from them. Sucks for Jax too on being robbed an oldies format. :( - Tama you need to either get with the times or close up shop and sell all your stations off to companies who can do it better~!
 
Actually TAMA did not own the station when it was Groovin oldies, then Mix 105. Some small group from California owned them, don't remember who but they had a really strange name. They flipped to SJ shortly after the TAMA purchase went through

WXGV/WYGV was owned by Exosphere Broadcasting. I had forgotten about them until you mentioned it.
