It's the perfect format. When your objective is to run a station with as few people as possible, regardless of what the format landscape might be in the given market. With this flip, and the "retiring" Debbie Bolton, you can run seven stations with four and a half people, instead of six. 80's...90's...Jammin Oldies...Jack...Fred...Bob...Phil...Carol...Moesha...He Hate Me...Boutros Boutros Ghali...The Smoking Guy from The X Files...Eric Branch(the kid that beat me up in the sixth grade), whatever the name. What will they all have in common at the end of the day?

Good to see you on the board again, Phil. Don't be a stranger. :)

How about an FM sports station in Savannah? Especially with 1130 putting out a weak, dismal signal in the area day and night.

That's definitely an idea. I'd love to see Triad try Progressive Talk but they don't have the nerve.

Outside of those (Sports Talk and Progressive/Air America), I can't think of any other formats to put on WGZO at the moment.

Prog Talk in Savannah

I think they're correct in not giving a stick to AAR (or Prog talk), Chucktown is very similar to Savannah and Progressive talk didn't do so swimingly there.

When you break down the demographics of Democrats in the Savannah metro (most of whom live in Savannah city, which is overwhelmingly urban)...they already have their station, and I doubt Franken would appeal to them. I doubt theres enough left over in the Democratic arena in Savannah to make a profitable station, esp on one of the weak signals for Triad/Adventure.

Looks a lot like one of my former stations KJMO. You'd probably guess they're co-owned.
