Reliable sources are telling me that Boomer has already quit Rock 106.1.
Who can confirm?

justphil2.0 said:Not meant to sound cryptic. Rock 1061 isn't going anywhere.....yet. They'd be in bad shape without Lex And Terry though. Any station in Savannah that had them on would do quite well in the ratings right out of the box, especially if they could do better in other dayparts! (insert evil laugh here!)
justphil2.0 said:Privvy, yes. Free to share, no. But, these kind of things are never really well kept secrets for long anyways. Doesen't need to be a secret in my opionion. It would be better for advertisers if it wasn't. That's how word usually gets out. But it's fun to speculate what might or could be. I've been working for Clear Channel for the last couple of months. It's actually been very enjoyable! You know, Clear Channel does own Lex And Terry. So, if we were to put on some type of rock station in Savannah, it would be HIGHLY probable that Lex and Terry would be part of the package. This has happend in other markets. Cumulus even did to me with Bob and Shari, although I didn't mind! They promised Jefferson Pilot at the time more stations if they could have Savannah. And recently in Huntsville, Clear Channel flipped a format and stole a morning team from rock station WRTT. So, it does happen, if you believe you can sell said station on air and online.

101.1 moves to 94.1?
101.1 becomes the rock station?
98.7...hmm...unless 105.3 is cleaning house in doctors offices all over town, I'm not sure about this.

I'd love to see a rock station on a 100k stick, but if it's on 101.1, or even 98.7, then potential havens of rock listeners (and hence advertisers) wouldn't be reached. In my mind, to have a truly sucessful rock station in this AREA (Not just the city limits of Savannah), you have to put a clean, listenable signal into:
Hinesville,
Statesboro,
Beaufort &
Hilton Head
95.5 does, and they rule the roost. 101.1 & 98.7 do not accomplish that, and that's one reason why I pushed the idea of 106.1 moving to 106.9 (even though that only helps Statesboro & Hinesville reception marginally).
