Savannah: Impact on WZAT?

If Cumulus is struggling with ESPN on FM, I highly doubt they will flip it to CBS. However, Cumulus does own all sports talk in the market, so if anything I think they will drop FOX Sports on AM 900 in favor of CBS Sports. I do hope they leave Rome's show on there, though. CBS Sports Network already has a TV deal with him, so I wonder if the radio division will offer him something at the conclusion of his long term Premiere contract.

At the very least, this means Cumulus has access to Westwood One again and that means NFL games could come back to WZAT. Didn't 104.9 pick them up at the end of last season?

Wow. I honestly didn't expect that, but at the same time I guess I shouldn't be surprised. What a disappointment. ESPN isn't a blockbuster radio brand in Savannah but CBS Sports doesn't even have an audience yet. I guess there are no logical answers to this, Cumulus just wants to do whatever they want

Savannah isn't a sports town period, which makes me continue to wonder why Cumulus flipped Savannah's most powerful commercial FM to a non-starter of a format.
