Savannah Ratings?

Wasn't expecting the Beat to be #1. The station is basically almost ALL Piped in. E93 Sound Quality sucks they may have stayed #1 if sound quality was better. Can't Gauge Hot 98.3 yet, they sound good almost identical playlist to Kiss. Still need a full book. Looks like a lot of Hank listeners went to Bob and Kix. WZAT surged just wish they had a better name than "The Sound" Z102 would have been better. G100 is still one of my faves. the playlist though, stuff is switched up, still in my opinion needs to be swtiched up a bit more. Still a little too much of the same. Kiss dropped but it didn't all end up at Hot. Kinda went to WZAT.

Saying WZAT "surged" is a bit of a stretch considering they have a 1.2

You get the feeling Rock 106.1 never should have ditched Lex & Terry? Yikes! Cumulus should flip 102.1 or 103.9 to some flavor of newer Rock or Alt and stick those guys in AM drive. It wouldn't do worse than what 102.1 is pulling right now.

^L&T's schtick is old and outdated, just like Lex and Terry themselves. They have no affiliate in their home market (Dallas) and air on a 99 watt repeater in their original market (Jax). This speaks highly of what passes for good radio in Savannah (not). Despite the calls for boycott (what will they listen to? Bob & Tom?), that has long passed. It may take time, but Two guys named Chris are more topical and relateable to this region (southeast, conservative) vs. L&T (Texas, California-style liberals). 106 still has a more compelling mix of rock vs. I-95, plus they target a different market. I don't see them going anywhere. As for bringing an alt station here, if there was demand, it would have happened already. The format is waning as it is.

Close relations with someone who does voice track for a few iheart rock stations. No, it's active rock that is hurting nationwide right now. Alternative is pulling in more $$. I do believe there is a demand for alt in Savannah but I also don't think Savannah is on Iheart or cumulus' radar. How else do you explain the strongest signal in Savannah staying below 2.0 for the past 5 years. Embarrassing if you ask me.

WIXV is absolutely tired. The playlist is very narrow and with the exception of a few one hit wonders, the playlist really hasn't changed all that much in the last 15 years. If they want to be classic rock, fine, switch it up some. Add some things. Dig a little deeper at times and keep Don Scott behind the desk and off the microphone. When he is on the air, I feel like I'm listening to a huge infomercial. The stations clock has literally stayed the same for at least 20 years. I'm not exaggerating. As a kid in High School, I had it memorized when the station would go to break (around 20 minutes after and 10 minutes before the hour). Still hasn't changed and they still play Tom Petty (about three songs) like it's just been discovered.

Eh... It could be worse though. You could be in the Macon or Augusta radio market.
