Savannah: WFXH (Rock 106-1) PD Boomer Exits

First, I had no idea 106.1 was named 2008 alt station of the year for markets 101+. That's an awesome honor!

I see no mention in the R&R article of Boomer moving on, so I have to presume he was released? While I was not a huge fan of his on air style, he did "harden up" the playlist, which I appreciated. I only hope whoever is the new PD will follow in his footsteps & continue to refine 106.1.

ALL music programming at Cumulus rock stations must first meet the approval of VP/Rock Val Garris.

So if the music was "hardened up", Garris had to approve it first. He, and all of the Cume-less VPs, are micro-managers. Much worse than anything CC does.

That's quite a feat, seeing as how Triad Broadcasting owns WFXH (and has since 2000).
