Savannah: Why does WIXV sound so tinny?

For almost a year now, it sounds like any semblance of bass has been filtered out of the music played by I-95. It's all mids & highs. Very strange processing. What's he story here?

I have noticed the same thing. I've also noticed their signal seems to be a bit stronger. In Vidalia, they seem to come in clearer than they use to. This has been the case since the summer so I know it's not atmospheric.

Don't get me started on their playlist though. Every since Cumulus has basically treated this station like a back burner station, it really has lost it's luster. I believe Don Scott is the only live DJ on the radio station. Sad Sad...

Good point. It does seem to get out farther, for sure. I don't know what kind of sound they're trying to achieve though. It's really bad. 104.9 sounds the way it does at the folks at Apex are trying to recreate the way FM sounded in the late 60's-early 70's: Warm, vacuum tube driven & plenty of reverb. Fits the format perfectly. Not so much on I-95.
