Save Alternative??

Since Save Alternative hosted the last show on May 20th on KCNL which USC bought 104.9 (iFM International Spanish Variety) they have not taken their show onto 92.3 KSJO Universal FM. Universal Media Access hosts Save Alternative in the same Radio Building in Sunnyvale followed by KLOK 1170 AM. I Don't understand why they haven't taken action to move on to 92.3? Its been months now? Anyone know whats going on? ???

I don't know anything about the back story, but based on what you've just posted I'd say that KSJO is hosting the "Save Alternative" group (what it it a webcast or something?) until the people lose interest and go away. Giving out some office space would be far cheaper than defending the station against frivolous lawsuits, etc.

Some formats simply don't work well enough to make them viable on a full-power radio station serving a major market.

I think you are right on the "loosing the interest and go away" usually Greg who hosted Save Alternative on KCNL, but since they aired the last show on iFM they no longer have talk shows on their Webcast Shows just plain music and very flat now, even without the "Save Alternative Identification Voice". It seems to me KSJO is not giving the right technology equipment to run Save Alternative in the studio. They still respond in their Facebook which Greg who runs that only based on music requests or band/artist news.

Greg said once on the last show before KCNL switched to Classical he mentioned that he was searching for a full-power radio station in the Bay Area or Small Scheduled Radio spot to search for a new home for SALT but nothing came through. Seems to me they care less now.

They're owned by the same company but KSJO probably has no need to have Save Alternative on 92.3 as their weekend show was on 104.9 mainly for promoting both their mobile app and broadcast on KCNL's HD channel. Since the owners no longer have KCNL, there's no HD channel for Save Alternative.

The owners could probably have moved Save Alternative over to KSJO's HD channel but guess they haven't given up on the Tech FM HD channel since its still on air with electro-pop during the day and Gothic/industrial at night.
