Has anyone heard anything about WONE not having Browns games on anymore? I saw this on WONE.com.

Save Our Browns
Some weasel of a radio "genius" wants to take away your ability to hear the Browns in Dayton. Let him know what you think.

Cheap stunt, or cheap way to gauge listenership for the games?

Doesn't matter to me, I get the games on Sirius anyway.

Does it seem dumb to anyone else that the Browns air on a station that simulcasts Cincinnati sports talk the rest of the week? Surely the Browns can go to another outlet down there.

There are a lot of dumber things than the Browns that happen on the local sports stations. Some stations bill themselves as "all sports", but they run non-sports programming.

Examples: The unlistenable Phil Hendrie on WSAI
Gary Sullivan's home improvement show on WONE
Sunday morning church services on WMOH
A jazz show on WING

Compared to those examples, the Browns seem reasonable...at least they are a sports franchise!

A jazz show? I can understand Hendrie; I've heard him on other sports stations (his flagship is X-Tra Sports 570 in L.A.) and his programming is targeted toward the same audience. Even a church service is acceptable for that time period. But jazz is stretching it.

The WING jazz show one of those brokered deals. The guy that hosts it owns a book store, and he does the show live from there. It's on around 10:00 Sunday morning.

On Saturday mornings, WSAI also runs some of those scam sports service "tout" shows, where obnoxious hosts with thick New Yawk accents sell their overpriced useless football picks.

Anyone knows who's behind this anyway? I never saw an answer in the other threads.
