SaveWRKO.Com: Finneran and VB?

What's so odd about sitting on the street in Beacon Hill in a Lazy Boy with a ceramic dog? LOL

Interesting.

I have no idea how Finneran is going to turn out, but ya know, I read Brian Maloney's screeds with the holier than thou attitude, and think back to listening to him sub for Todd Feinburg last summer.... Wow, wow, wow.

Talk about boring.... It was right after they published the fact that MA was losing population, and all he did was talk about how horrible it was to live in MA, how everyone is leaving, how much better it is everywhere else. I just sat there listening, thinking, well, just GO then. Less traffic for the rest of us, lower housing costs, less crowded at the beach. Great! I think a lot of listeners did too, cuz he didn't get a lot of calls.

Did you notice that he never said anything bad about 'RKO until they announced Feinburg was taking the 9-12 slot? Oh, and they stopped using him for fill-ins. And NOW he's on his high moral horse?? I wish they'd offer him a job just to see him turn on a dime. It would be like watching a dog try to turn around in mid-air and land in the same place he took off....

Well he does seem to be on Attack 'RKO mode so I guess he's given up any hope of winding up there.
I didn't hear much of his fill-ins; he had a kind of higher pitched slightly raspy voice and I didn't
really tune in long enough to judge him. As a blogger he has had some "scoops" and I've passed
info along to him. Certainly I've wrangled with the likes of his regular commentators like Ministry
of Propaganda... :)

I like 'RKO for Howie and the Sox and Feinburg isn't too bad but you wonder if Howie may eventually wind
up on the FM dial...

let's talk about Feinburg. First heard him doing a middle east show. Then it was a food show at night. Now Finneran will go until 10a.When is the press conference on Todd doing 10-noon. My guess is they go syndicated 10-noon in the spring. Otherwise, why not announce Todd wen they announced Finneran?

Maybe because it isn't going to be 10-noon. I bet they are focused on getting Finneran started and then will turn to sorting out the rest of the schedule.

I read on a radio blog somewhere about stations dumping Rush because of additional strings attached to airing him - maybe it's the same problem Carr is having with some of his affiliates. Instead of raising fees, the syndicators are requiring stations to air additional content. Some stations are saying no.... So, maybe WRKO is going to all local programming 6am to 7pm and then games or syndication:

- 6-10 Finneran and someone,
- 10-2 Feinburg (and others? a lib? Wolfe said they are still working on this but that it will include Feinburg),
- 2-6 Carr,
- 6-6:30 or 7 pre-game shows or syndication,
- 7 games or syndication.

Brad Bleidt To The Rescue

Here is the perfect co-host for Felon Finneran. None other than another convicted felon and broadcaster Brad Bleidt. Instead of sitting in jail all day he could be sitting behind and Entercon mic earning enough money to pay back the money he defrauded all his clients - even his mother. He could do this all the while he is offering financial advice to Finneran and the audience.
Seems like a reasonable solution to me.

Doesn't the Boston Phoenix story answer most of the questions about saving WRKO? If WTKK really did gain steadily against them in the 12+ numbers all last year (and without Severin), and WRKO was already losing 25-54, how can it "save" them to go back to what they were doing before?

Julie and the gang may not be doing the right thing, but they had to do something.

From SaveWRKO.com: "Not Interested:We're hearing that Finneran's sidekick will most certainly not be Doug "VB" Goudie, as he has apparently signed a new deal to remain with FOX 25's local morning show. Hey, why give up the comforts of FOX 25 for a radio show that may not last six months, especially when it would be your job to prop up a novice host?"

what a rogues' gallery. rko should be punished simply for bad taste.
