SaveWRKO predicts Feinburg to 6-10 am

http://www.savewrko.com credits "buzzing bees" over at Guest St. with the rumor that Todd
Feinburg is moving to am drive--perhaps Finneran (once he's back just after the new year,
after prostate surgery) AND Feinburg? Could it be that they'll run F&F and then maybe go
syndie with Glenn Beck? Though I'd guess they'd probably keep it local. Who knows. We'll
see if the buzzing bees are right.

What is it with you and Beck??? Every time any slot opens up on any talk station around here, you bring up his name. Is he even available live in AM drive? I don't think so. You can't seriously believe that with all of the syndie product avilable live during AM drive, Entercom would put a show on 'RKO that had to be delayed from the day before (or from three days before on Mondays). That would be insane! Beck is, of course, the kind of second-rate "talent" that appeals to the Entercom brain trust (and apparently to you), but a major market station like 'RKO being tape delayed in AM drive makes about as much sense as... as... Todd Feinburg in AM drive. Oh... wait...!

Beck I believe is one of the top 4 talk hosts* and he does a nightly show on CNN Headline News. Since he's
syndicated by Premiere and 'RKO has had a relationship with them, I thought it was a possibility if they
were to go off the bird. I'm not necessarily saying Beck would be what I'd like, merely what WRKO could
possibly put on. Heck, Westwood One's Dennis Miller would be more attractive to me. He is conservative on most issues and liberal on others ("I wouldn't mind if Larry wants to marry Steve, but if an Islamofascist wants
to firebomb their wedding, then I WOULD have a problem with that...") And libtalk fans would love to hear
Stephanie Miller, who had been on WRKO before 10-midnight ('99-'00, around then?)

So I bring up Beck but I also bring up either of the Millers. Beck doesn't do AM drive, he's on 9-noon
(and I believe is heard on Clear Channel properties in Worcester (WTAG), Prov. (WHJJ), and NH
(the WGIR network). There's your working relationship between CC and Premiere. I was talking about
the 10-noon slot ("Could it be that they'll run F&F and then maybe go
syndie with Glenn Beck? "), in which case Beck or either of the Millers would be available live.
Again, I was saying if WRKO wanted to pair up Finneran and Feinburg in morning drive opposite
the cranky cowboy on WTKK, AND they wished to go syndie from 10-noon...Note also that WRKO has
run a "best of Beck" on weekends.

*--at least acc. to the Talkers survey estimate. From Spring 07: Rush 13.5 million,
Hannity 12.5, tied for third is Savage and Dr. Laura with 8 million, tied for fourth is
Beck and Laura Ingraham with 5 million. Although I think Beck has claimed he
is at #3...?
Wikipedia says he ranks 3rd among 25-54.

It appears those 'buzzing bees' are as reliable as ever.

On the bright side, maybe we can make some money with them. What is the 'buzzing bees'" take on the over/under for next Pats game?

Well it's poss. that they DID want Feinburg for 6-10, to co-host with Tom "Advil" Finneran, but he turned
them down (hours? salary? didn't want to work with the perjurer?)

Anything appears to be possible, with the exception of Maloney's 'sources' being right. How many times does he have to be burned to figure out that these 'insiders' are remarkably outside-the-loop for 'insiders'?

One thing that does appear to be certain is that Entercom is air-tight with information and these losers aren't the folks who are going to crack the code.

I think the new guy (Reese) is the more interesting story here. An actual radio personality with experience, a point of view and some energy to him. So far, not bad.

Of course Maloney is taking his usual "ready, fire, aim" approach with Feinberg and he's got Reese's hiring being the downfall of Wolfe and Kahn (complete with a "mark my words" - don't worry B, I did). On the bright side, he's got Feinberg fired and in AM Drive, so either way, he's right! Let's see how the slam on Entercom ages over time if Todd, who has a spotty ratings track (to be kind) ends up getting a shot in the AM.

Anyone who still believes any predictions made by Brian Baloney seriously needs to put their brain in the shop for some reconstructive surgery.

Feinburg's dismissal is a clear case of addition by subtraction for RKO. But yet again they get someone from outside of Boston for a local show. When will they acknowledge how Howie Carr's success is due to his longtime history of local politics and get another one like him to handle a regular show (like Avi Nelson, maybe?). New guy Reese at least has himself some weak comp against the long winded Mike 'Michael' Graham.

Vox is right on. Avi ok, but not the Avi of old.. I think fill in Hedlund has been good, reminding me of early Howie Carr local institutional knowlege-wise.
local works best.
