Saving the 70s now available 24/7/365

Thanks Chuck! I actually considered doing a show of standards. I even had a name "Standard Time". But I didn't think anyone would be interested in carrying it.

You might be surprised. I would. It wouldn't make you rich (or even help out) but it might make you famous. ;)

Ya never know!

Great set of pipes, Mike.

But saving the 70's?! My motto is any music made during the Ford Administration should be labeled "toxic" and buried somewhere in Nevada.

Only kidding.

Love the idea of adding sound bites between songs like Nixon's, "I've made my mistakes." This is the kind of thing that makes radio fun and shows some really creative production work on your part.

Do you load your entire show to Live 365 or are you streaming from your server through Live 365?

THANKS CARMINE! I load my entire show on Live365. I'd love to have some more affiliates! Let me know if any station in your area would be interested in carrying the show!

Well, in Los Angeles where I live, as you can imagine, you're pretty much locked out. But if this AM station project I'm working comes to pass, I'd give your show a slot.

The CP is for a city in Northern CA. Problem right now is securing a tower site. A lot of NIMBY resistance and no one to diplex with.

Well that'd be great, Carmine5. Here's hoping your station "is a go".

Maybe I'm crazy, but I haven't even thought about approaching corporate-owned stations. It seems to me that the odds of actually speaking to someone who can make a decision are thin. I DID think the show would be a great weekend feature for A/C stations, but so far it's oldies outlets who are interested. Maybe 70s music is "too old" for today's A/C audience. Hell, maybe I am too!

Thanks for your kind words, and best wishes!

Mike

The other day I was listening to a station that branded itself is "True Oldies." At least, that is what a billboard along the highway said. So did their liners. I was expecting Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Elvis, etc. Instead, it was Rare Earth, Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, Santana, etc. Hell, I worked with all of those groups in the 1970's & 80's doing live sound. In fact, my old company was originally financed by Rare Earth. Somehow, I think of those acts as "Classic Rock" but not true oldies. I guess that makes me older than dirt. Therefore Mike, you must be "nearly as old as dirt."

The Dude, there will be more variety as I produce more shows. So far, there are five hours of shows. Hour six has been produced, but not split into individual files, or uploaded yet. Then there will be others.

Question: as a listener, would you prefer that I take down older shows when newer ones go up? Just curious. I'd LOVE to offer the show as a podcast, so people could just listen to each new hour as it's produced. Of course I'd spend the rest of my natural life in a federal prison, for the crime of promoting back-catalog sales for the record industry! THAT CAN'T BE TOLERATED!

Chuck, yes I'm "nearly as old as dirt". Dirt is my slightly older cousin. All those groups you worked with (MUST HAVE BEEN FUN!), I played on the radio. Occasionally "dirt" would call in a request. Ahh, the good ole' days!

Then you must know my son, as I'm "Father of Dirt" ;D
