Say Buh-Bye to.....

Trivial Pursuit (FOX 11; to be possibly replaced by Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader)
Judge David Young (My 13)
Judge Karen (KDOC)

Sitting on the Fence.....

The Bonnie Hunt Show and Deal or No Deal (NBC 4)
Christina's Court (My 13)
Judge Jeannie Piro (KTLA now, but being bumped off for Tyra Banks. At this stage with the loss of other court shows, it could end up on MY 13, but Fox Broadcasting is still feeling pretty burned by Warner's for having Tyra being taking away)

Everything else is being renewed. A few more notes on KTLA; If they haven't already, they are supposed to be replacing the vacant digital subchannel (5.5?) that carried The Tube with MGM/Sony's This TV rerun network. Also the station is now poised to carry Star Trek: The Next Generation in the late night hours starting in the fall.

Intresting. KDOC was supposed to pick up ThisTV last fall but it never materialized. Even to this day the PSID on virtual channel 56.3 is identified as THIS TV. Knowing how cheap KDOC is they probably could never scrap together the cash to put it on the air.

It's been said before but KTLA could create an awesome subchannel on their own along the lines of RTN by airing classic programs that used to fill their lineup in the 70's and 80's. Much like when they did their Retro KTLA stunt the Thanksgiving before last. Fill it up with old KTLA staples like Gidget, Lost In Space, KTLA Family Film Festival and countless others.

Just Confirmed: KTLA is picking up Marie Osmond's new talk show from Las Vegas for the fall. Along with Tyra Banks, this is giving the station a more female-centered daytime lineup. To make way for Marie, the station will most likely sacrifice a late-night hour of Infomercials (the horror!) to move either a second run of Maury, or Jerry Springer in that slot.

Deal or No Deal (NBC 4)

Seriously? Daily DOND just scored its highest national rating of the season - a 2.0 in the most recent report (Source: buzzerblog.com). That seems pretty safe to me. Is it not doing well on KNBC at 3 PM?

Actually Deal is doing very well in the 3 PM slot. The only thing that is getting in their way at that hour is Judge Judy on KCBS, Oprah on KABC, the now doomed TPAP on FOX and KCAL's News. But in no time at all, syndie Deal will get renewed. Bonnie Hunt is also renewed as well despite being not great rated, but stations have 2 year deals with the show, so nonetheless, it's renewed.

....and now Judge Jeannie is indeed set to move to MY 13 come the fall (most likely taking the place of the now cancelled Christina's Court).

Now, something else we may say Buh-Bye to come the fall: With all three current talk shows on KTLA on the renewal list (four if you count to soon-to-be-moved Tyra), and Marie Osmond waiting in the wings, a question has now sufaced --

Is the clock ticking on the KTLA News @ 9???

500 channel Universe and there's no room for Trivial Pursuit to go ahead with a second season?

Something's wrong somewhere. GSN? Can you pick up the show and give it a new season? Please?
