Say goodbye to "The Tony Danza Show"

It looks like Buena Vista has indeed thrown in the towel on his show, which will cease production this Summer.

His show wasn't seen in San Antonio. The only stations close by that showed it was Austin and Corpus Christi. Around the country,he was competing against every show on TV like Regis and Kelly,Ellen,Martha,Springer,Maury,Judge Judy, etc. and in some places he was on in the wee hours of the morning.

Maybe we could get Wayne Brady back because that's who Tony replaced anyways and Buena Vista cancelled Wayne's show to get Tony Danza.

Speaking of Wayne Brady..he just signed on to a new sitcom pilot on the CW.

The big problem with the show was simple....even though he is a popular, well-liked actor and all, it was that "New Yawka" appeal that didn't translate well outside of the NYC metro area and perhaps Philly. The ratings were actually good on WABC...but I could see where people outside of here hated hearing that Brooklyn/Staten Island type accent.

In the Scranton/W-B area, Danza is currently seen on our NBC station WBRE-TV 28 every day at 11:00am. During the show's previous season, it was locally seen on our FOX station WOLF-TV, known as "FOX 56".

No station in the area has ever carried the former Buena Vista-produced "Wayne Brady" show. It was shown in adjacent markets, but not here.

I guess Buena Vista's talk shows aren't doing so good, except for Regis & Kelly, which gets very high ratings during the morning hour.

Regis airs in Hartford/New Haven (CT) at 9 AM on WTNH-TV (ABC) channel 8 of New Haven. Tony airs at noon on "sister" station WCTX-TV (UPN) channel 59 of New Haven. I don't remember Wayne Brady airing in this market. As for Tony getting the axe, isn't the hour going to be given to Rachel Ray soon? <P ID="signature">______________

"Family Feud" won't be having Richard as its host next season. Does that tell you anything?
