SAY WHAT? TV LAND BRINGS BACK SOME 35 MINUTE RETRO SHOWS

TV Land seems to change something on their schedules about every other week.

Now, they've brought back some oldies with expanded commercial breaks.
Good luck with that TV Land, as I refuse to watch a 22 minute show with 12 commercial
minutes.

Leave It To Beaver 8AM
Leave It To Beaver 8:34
Dick Van Dyke 9:07
Dick Van Dyke 9:41
Bewitched 10:14
Andy Griffith 10:50
Andy Griffith 11:25
Good Times Noon
The Jeffersons 12:30
Sanford & Son 1:00
Bonanza 1:36 to 6:05
Mash 6:05 to 7:48 (3 shows)
Roseanne 7:48 to 9PM

Some of these shows are on METV. In my town, at least, the spot load is about 8 minutes or possibly even less. At any rate, it's FAR more watchable than the now-execrable TVLand.

Gee, Wally. That extra five minutes sure is creepy!

Aw, Beav, old people get a kick out of buying junk off of television and stuff.

I think TV Land is trying to kill TV Land. They are now just insulting their viewership. You are not going to convince me that they think their viewers will accept butchering these programs. They are trying to destroy TV Land and rationalize it by saying the ratings were awful. If they really wanted to make money they could raise their rates. Thank goodness I now have ME-TV.

Agreed on ME-TV.

So glad we have it now in the ATL.

They pay great respect to the shows, and how they are presented.

TVLand lost me long ago, so it's great to be able to revisit the classics again with ME.

+1!

I think some viewers will accept the "butchering" of shows, especially if you're young and never saw the original.

I remember when ME-TV first started in Chicago, and I was seeing things on the Mary Tyler Moore Show, I never recall seeing before. ME-TV was running them uncut or at least was cutting other parts out. And some of the jokes I never got, I now understood.

But I never realized that they were cut to begin with.

Or if you love a show. I bought the DVDs of the Odd Couple, 'cause I love that show. Yes, I would rather have the uncut version and think it's a crime to cut them, but the show is just so great, at least to me, I'd rather have the cut version and laugh and laugh than an uncut version of a show I don't find funny

And that's another point. TV Land butchers those shows, 10 seconds here, 15 seconds there,
even an entire scene. TV Land is a waste, but I don't think they've realized it yet. They love
their new shows though.

I refuse to watch TVLand. I was a fan of RTV even though it wasn't the best managed network. My town replaced it with AntennaTV. We also have MeTV also. I don't have (and don't want) cable, so its great to see these great old shows again. The network affiliates are covered in boring courtroom shows, mom shows and trash talk.
