sbe1 is my hero

In a different post, sbe1 used a line that says it all.

"Radio must provide compelling local content if it is to succeed".

Every manager and owner should have this tatooed on their foreheads.
21st Century radio's continuing falling listenership is because "the suits"
just don't get it.

I'd rather hear what is going on in MY town than the latest "news" on
Brittney/K-Fed/Paris or whoever is the flavor of the week. Tell me about
the upcoming festival, the traffic snarl, the chilly weather, etc. I'm not blaming any one company. As the "evolution" of this mess continues, I pray that the young ones remember the lesson and hopefully remember the formula when the rebuilding begins.

"Radio must provide compelling local content if it is to succeed."
