I notice on 970 I'm hearing "Will the banks get bailed out? Find out at 3:00" or something.
I don't recall him specifically doing show-specific promos in the past.

I notice it's generic. He doesn't mention the station. Larry King would customize his promos to the Top 20 markets.

I find it interesting that all the sudden he decides to do timely promos, when in the past, nothing but generic computerized liners promoting his show. Something must have changed.
 
I also think it's a little strange Schnitt would agree to do those. He has always said on both shows that he wants his show to just go with the flow each day, and he'll react to things as they happen on the fly without having a so-called "script" to go by. I haven't heard these teasers yet, but they better be somewhat unique, otherwise I don't see how you're going to draw in listeners by a quick little one-liner about the upcoming show.
 
They're not unique. They're not customized. In fact, you might not know who he was unless you had heard his show already.

They simply say something like, "Obama proposes this and that. Will it work? Find out after Rush" or at 3:00 p.m.
 
More than likely there are changes being made because Brian James who did almost all their imaging, died a few weeks ago. Quite frankly, I'm surprised 970 is still using Brians material.

I've only pointed out how smug the incumbent "heritage" Tampa NT station is, laying people off right and left, programming almost zero local shows, not wanting to interrupt reruns of syndicated shows for severe weather/

Additionally, its ownership buying most competing signals as "insurance" to keep any competitors out of the way, dropping night time news, and generally doing everything as cheaply as possible.

970 reminds me of some jerk going out on a date and expecting the woman to pick up the check. El-Cheapo.
