School closings by the number...

... happy kids by the score ...

Anyway, KYW-1060 Philadelphia has been rattling off the number codes of schools closed by snowstorms for years (and in my MS/HS days in the '70s, so did WIP-610 with "Weather Information Plus"; for some reason I listened to WIP rather than KYW for that info back then).

Are number-coded school closings done in any other markets? Of course, Philly is one of the largest markets so numbers would do well there.

They only close schools by counties here in NC, but all the schools have names they use if the water or something goes out and one school shuts down for the day.
