Scorpions are inmature

How can anyone get behind such a cliched song like the new Scorpions track, 321. I know these guys have never been great lyricist but I would have thought that with the band being in their 50's they would try to write something a little more mature. "save me cause the world's gonna stop" "baby 321 are you ready to rock" This is something a teenager would write. What rubbish!

For me, many times, the lyrics don't make the song. As a matter of fact, I'm one of those who seldom listens to the lyrics but rather am driven by the music and the hooks in the song. "321" is a great tune. We're playing it on ClassX Radio.com.

I have always thought they were a great band. Their primary language is German, so maybe their lyrics might not be as on point as Neil Peart or Bob Dylan, they've done a lot of great albums. I like 'em.

Im referring to subject matter. These are grown men in their 50's singing cliched lyrics. Where is the artistic growth? Some of you rockers just don't ask for much.

There's plenty of crap lyrics out there...listen some of the stuff that has come from the pen of McCartney lately.
Then again, listen to the radio....I don't think they are too concerned with artistic growth.

Many people are guilty. As far as Im concerned if you have nothing of substance to say I have no time for you. And, the Scorpions fit into that category. I liked them when I was 16 in 1984. I grew up. They obviously did'nt.

Is "inmature" a word in the English language? ;D ;D

For me it's about time and space, where you are and what you want to hear in that moment.

If I'm driving up the 101 with the top down on a sunny day, and I've got the Scorpions rockin' "Another Piece Of Meat"...it's getting turned up and I'm singing along!

If I want music to soften the blow of my mid-life crisis I'll call Neil Young.

Would anyone "buy it" if Scorpions went all-acoustic and got all figurative with their lyrics and talked about middle-age-man problems like ED or prostate woes????

Girl, it's been a long time that we've been apart
Much too long for a man who forgets
What time the early bird starts
Babe, it wasn't easy to leave you alone
But won't someone answer that damn phone!
I put Brylcreem on all of my gray

There's no one like you
I can't wait for the nights with you
I forgot all the things we'll do
I just wanna be loved by....hey what was I talking about again?

No one like you
I can't wait for the nights with you
I remember the things we could do
I just wanna be loved by....hey what was I talking about again?

Girl, I think I used to be strong and buff
Words describe all my longed for love
I don't want my kids to have to pay
Ooh, babe, my investments are all coming due
And I got a reverse mortgage too
For the time when I am gone away

There's no one like you
Though I forget the nights with you
Can't recall the times we stayed up late
I just wanna be loved by you

No one like you
Though my time with you have slipped my mind
Got sciatica and I'm going blind
I think about you all the time

No one like you

GAWD, THAT WOULD RAWK!
All the young dudes would be copying that action to pick up chicks!
Long live Rock and Roll, Grandpa! 8)

By the time I heard the Scorps on the radio... I was way beyond "16". So, I never got into them or the radio Def Lep, or Boston. Actually, when I was 16 in 1971-1972 .... there was just too much good solid rock, incredible solid rock going on, to even pay attention to any rock that might have been in the category of the above... I guess I just missed out.... Or... Maybe ---- I have no regrets about not having a band like the Scorps around when I was 16... 8)

I think lyrics do matter. The Scorps never had thought provoking lyrics but always good hard rocking catchy songs. Their Lovedrive album is unbelievable. Their fairly new album isn't up to par with the classic stuff but it is the best thing they have done since Crazy World. The song you are referring to is one of the poorer songs on the album.
