I tuned into KFYI last night and Gregg paul was on the air with his new show Rennagade talk radio <------very original LOL. Anyway i called the studio to ask what happend to Scott Connor and they told me they decided to go a different direction. I didnt listen to Gregg's show long last night because I was tired. has anyone listend to his new show? is it any good? and is there any other station you think that Scott may end up on?

Maybe he'll team up with KOOL's Sammy Sherwood - both equally annoying. While we're usually trashing The Nearly Famous One, Nurse Jeff and I agree with him...Scott Connor aint KFYI material.

nope, wasn't even close to being red enough.

I was wondering about that, I heard a bit last nite.

I liked Scott, he had fun on the radio, so few people do. Especially burned out old arrogant jackballs like Barry Komando.

Is Gregg Paul the permanent replacement? He sounded stiff and boring. Its a night show, cut loose a bit. Thank God we didn't get Terry "Screech" Gilberg and her one subject show in its place.

Scott, I hope you find another place on the dial!

scott can't carry the long-form talk format.
he'd be better doing music fm. ..free fm? ..maybe weekends.?

terry gilberg is one of the valley's best. i like her investigative style. ..she knows her stuff.

greg paul is ok. not for kfyi's monday - friday 7 - 10. ..he needs a co-ho.

I agree I only tuned into Scott's show a few times he sounded relaxed and had fun. he was more open minded unlike the rest of the Rush Dido heads on KFYI

Terry may be an investigator, but every single show is about immigration.

I find that interesting, but not every single show.

Plus, that voice! Its painful.

Yeah I guess if you aren't kissing Bush *ss every minute, then you don't fit in at FYI

Re: One word for KFYI ... Leibowitz

Liebo would be a good show, he has a base, has fun on the air, and can get good guests.

Maybe they will get Goyette?

LOL!!!!!

Whether or not that's true, it doesn't make much sense to hire the guy that contributed to your station's ability to overtake his.

Damn... too bad they just put up 1,002 billboards with Crummey and Conners' pictures on them.

2006 Deadpool: 3 down, 2 to go...

Re: One word for KFYI ... Leibowitz

Well Liebo is already on the air for Clear Channel in town, very loosely though. He does his little dog track show on wednesday night on 910 am.

Not gonna happen. Goyette couldn't get a job as a janitor for Clear Channel.

Re: One word for KFYI ... Leibowitz

Honestly, I think Gregg would be good for KFYI, he's conservative but at the same time has a brain of his own so he wouldn't be a complete republican kiss-ass, he also knows a ton about the valley. If he's not sounding quite up to par I think he would sink in nicely with some regularity . . .

Re: Beam Scotty elsewhere

Heard Uncle Scott was called in to Chick Boss's office too often to answer for too many complaints--including from KFYI colleagues.

His style was too juvenile for my sensibilities--As one guest on his show told me when Scott made fun of how his name is spelled, "I haven't heard that since grade school." Style is subjective, so that in itself is not reason enough for me to can someone, but it was clear to me he did not do his homework. A host should spend hours preparing for a few hours on air. To lob conventional jabs for the sake of appearing contrary or "edgy" without knowing your subject is not effective.

Heard Laurie wanted to take a chance with someone "green." No harm in trying something different. I respect the attempt. At least one of the part-time hosts is interested in the night shift...

no reason to respect it, it's grounds for firing chickboss, she didn't do her homework before hiring Conner..

What homework is there to be done? The guy spent a year doing Saturday nights on a station in market #70. Obviously she's done a good job in general, but I don't see how this is a homework issue.

And, yes, I'm sure the weekend talent would like their own weeknight show. I've suggested Jim Sharpe before, who was kind enough to come on and explain his skepticism about that. But, please, no Terri Gilberg, at least for another month until I win my bet.
