Scott Gordon on KRLD

Does anyone know if this is the same Scott Gordon on NBC 5? I've heard him a few times over the past few days doing a few live anchor things. Sounds like they might be getting him settled in to join the existing anchors.

yes, it's him, the same Scott Gordon, KRLD has a partnership with NBC 5 for a while, as after Entercom/Audacy took over, the partnership with CBS 11 ended due to them no longer being owned by the same company and they made a deal with NBCUniversal/Comcast to have NBC 5 be their TV partner as part of a clusterwide deal 5 years ago this year.

the statement from when the deal was made in 2018 from NBC 5:
NBC's TV Stations in D-FW to Share News With Six Entercom Radio Stations

It is Scott Gordon from NBC 5, but he may be looking for a full-time job at KRLD, as he no longer works at KXAS.

He left Channel 5 in January of this year.

Yeah it sounded like he could be joining the daytime lineup because they had him on with John Little and Heather Barons, but it sounded like he was still getting settled in because he didn't talk all that much. He'll be a good addition to the team they have in place over there. I still wonder why we don't have all news here in DFW. Detroit has less population and they have WWJ. I remember KEWS 949 back in 1996, but that didn't last very long. Infinity had already sold that station when the tower collapse happened, so they moved Young Country over there temporarily.

All News Radio and Sunbelt markets don't seem to mix. Other than Los Angeles, the only other place to find All News Radio in the Sunbelt is 1080 KRLD's part time format in Dallas (Weekdays 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.). If you go back to the 1980s, KRLD was full time all-news. But over the years, nights and weekend were eliminated. All News formats were tried in Market #6 Houston (92.1 FM) and Market #7 Atlanta (106.7 FM) in the last few years but neither succeeded.

Four All News stations are in the top 10 when it comes to best billing stations in the U.S. WTOP 103.5 Washington (#1), WBBM 105.9 and 780 Chicago (#4), WINS 1010 New York (#8) and WCBS 880 New York (#10). Audacy's best billing station in Los Angeles is KNX. It's best billing station in San Francisco is KCBS. In Dallas, KRLD is among Audacy's best billing stations, even if it only runs the format on weekdays. But in markets where folks don't have the all-news habit, it is hard to start a new station.
