I have received word that Scott O'Brien(Griffin)has passed away after a long bout with cancer.
Scott worked at WABB AM & FM, WKRG-FM, WKSJ-FM, WNTM-AM, and WNSP-FM, Mobile.
He was a class act through and through and will be sorely missed.

Scott was a wonderful person who lived for this business. His passion really came through when telling you the stories, and man, those were some stories!

He will be sorely missed.

My condolences. Scott was truly one of the best. I have a lot of memories listening to him on the radio. Though I didn’t have the chance to work with him, I had the opportunity to meet him as a listener at a remote some years ago. He took time out to talk with my family and I and was very friendly.

Of course, we all remember him as a great announcer, but let's not forget he could sing, too. Y’all remember “The Moon Pie” song? Can’t remember the exact title, (must have been "Moon Pies") but it was a parody to “Blue Skies” by Willie Nelson. (IIRC, Bill from ‘Wayne and Bill’ was the one singing with him) Always gave me a good laugh every year around Mardi Gras.

“Moon pies flying at me
Nothing but moon pies do I see”

Great memories, great career-Certainly gone way to soon.

“Feed the birds!”
