Scott Paulsen and the Electric Lunch

Just have to say what a FANTASTIC job Scott Paulsen did on the Electric Lunch this past week,4/16-4/20.. Was glad to hear some lost classic's that I haven't heard on DVE in ages. Sounded like he was having a blast taking requests from listeners who really appreciate and know their music.... Kudos to you Scott, you made the lunch hour great for many of us..

I remember back in the late 80's Scott used to have some fun playing deep cuts for the first half hour before the morning show officially started.

I agree. It's great to hear Scott back on DVE. I wonder if he will eventually be on fulltime again?

I also love that Scott is back, but he is better on his own. He doesn't seem to mix well on the morning show. At least he is better than Bill Crawford. I hear Crawford and change the station. Horrible choice. Mike Wysocki would have been better.

I think Scott is much better by himself, too. Or, at least give him more billing in the morning and be there everyday.

While I first found Crawford kinda funny, I find his voice annoying now.

Wysocki isn't that much better, but I see your point...why hire Crawford when you had Wysocki?

Hearing Paulson over the past few months has put a spotlight (in my opinion at least), on how average Bauman and the rest of the morning show crew is. Paulson started off slow and it was awkward (still is at times) and had to find his place when he started back. His writing is much more consistent than Bauman's. I am not sold on this version morning show at all, but it has been good to hear Paulson get back in a groove.

As for Crawford, I don't think he's cut out for morning radio. He adds nothing in the way of recurring characters, and his humor when they are just bantering back and forth about the days events just isn't that funny. He is no Jim Krenn, that's for sure. Maybe he is a good stand up, but he isn't cutting it in the mornings.

The thing is, there is no real alternative on Pittsburgh morning radio that is worth turning the dial (well...pushing the button or touching the screen) for these days.
