Scott Pitoniak

This is just an idea that popped into my little brain. With the advent of two sports-talk radio stations in Rochester, why couldn’t one of them employ former D&C sports writer Scott Pitoniak?

After over two decades at the newspaper, Scott was unfortunately one of the 59 employees recently let go because of budget cuts at Gannett.

I figured with his knowledge of local sports, he would make a great addition to radio listeners who enjoy sporting events.

He'd be a good addition to the WHTK schedule, replacing Mike O'Meara's syndicated show out of DC in afternoon drive (which isn't more than a shadow of the show it was when it was a duo pairing him with Don Geronimo--and it was kind of lame even then).

But he might be an even better addition to one of the TV stations. No disrespect to the existing sports directors in town, who do a good job, but they could all use a little extra help in analyzing and covering the regional sports scene, and he'd be a good guy to do it.

He would be a wonderful addition to any radio or TV station.
He's a class act, a marvelous writer & certainly knows sports.
The D&C just continues to shoot itself in the foot, week after week.
