Scott Shannon/John Lander Hand-Off

Reliable sources at Tom Cuddy's office tell me Scott Shannon has had it with Faaarrrreid and is handing the morning show over to good friend and former zookeeper John Lander. Scott will remain PD (for now)

More to come as it developes...

Tom Cuddy resigned yesterday after 19 years in New York. He is gone at the end of the month.

When your reliable sources at Tom Cuddy's office told you this yesterday, did they also tell you that by the end of the day Tom Cuddy would be out of a job and soon would not even have an office?

I think that most people who have read your posts on this board before know that not one of your "in-the-know" predictions have ever come true. I'm not looking to embarrass you, but don't you see that you just continue to embarrass yourself by posting these items?

Maybe the guy doesn't have inside knowledge but it does make some sense. John Lander did some time at Z-100 and also at Eagle 106 in Philly, he's known in the area. Perhaps "Lander in the Morning" could give a little edge to this somewhat stale station. Of course you could bring in Elliott Segal(another Shannon/Lander protege) and take WPLJ in a younger direction. Better yet take PLJ back to Rock and have Elliott In The Morning and Opie and Anthony Afternoons. Alternative Rock in between and send K-Rock and RXP packing. But Lander would be cool.

About a week ago I posted that I often listen to the True Oldies Channel at work. I also questioned how long Scott Shannon could hold up with no support system. Fortunately we also have an oldies radio station right down the street at The Wave. I also listen to that station until it stops "hitting the whole speaker", as I call it. I was sorry to hear that they lost a really good DJ.

Nevertheless, if Shannon decides to move to something better for himself, God bless him. It is the modern culture that I am concerned for. Kids today do not know what they missed; I hope that the rest of us do not lose sight of what we had.

Lander was a blip in NY...and has little name recognition anymore. He, like Scott Shannon is WAY to old for the demo they claim to be going after although both are very talented.. As for Elliot, he is a ROCK guy who does a ROCK show. Although he did Z100 for years, he would not want to do a PLJ format that holds his true style back.

Here's something that I thought of that makes me doubt this.

If Scott really does leave...why doesn't Todd get top billing?

If anything, rather than bring in a new host that people would have to get used to, they'd move someone else up to co host with Todd.

The Todd and Monk in the Morning Show, for instance..

Yep i knew Tom was history. Why post it when the headlines covered it. Duh :D

Well as I hear Lander is talk's with No since being let go from WBMX in Boston. Elliot is doing well in DC for CC & has his show syndicated to another small market VA station. But as per Shannon Stepping away from Morning's He menched it a few yr's back that he would see if he wanted to keep doing it alittle more less then Todd. But we shall see, when all is said..

The reason to post it was for you to show enough sense to do something that would give you credibility.

Your post certainly doesn't give any indication that you knew of Tom's job status. Additionally, you have NEVER posted any prediction - not even one - that has ever come true. Again, I'm not looking to embarrass you (you obviously don't need any help in doing that yourself) but, if you'd like, a list can be put together of your "reliable source" posts on this board that were wrong and/or never happened. A list can also be put together of your predictions that did come true. That would be very easy to do since that list would have nothing on it.
