They already play music that can realistically be considered oldies. Again...in two years, 1980 will be 30 years ago. CBS-FM played 25-30 year old music in 2002, 1997, 1992, 1987, 1982 and even a bit earlier than that....they probably were already playing 20 year old music in the early 70s....well, 20 years ago was 1988, and I believe it won't be long until we start hearing music from the late 80s on CBS-FM, if they aren't already throwing in some...I do know they've reached the mid-80s for certain.
Again, I know this is probably painful for some people to swallow....but the music that CBS-FM is playing right now is transitioning along with the listeners it is targeting...playing cuts that are 20-40 years old. That's what an oldies station does. Unfortunately, though, we can't stop time and neither can an oldies station.
Lalumia, you always like to diss dance music and say that stations that want to get ratings should avoid playing it. Well...oldies stations that want to get ratings...and DEMOS...need to move into the future and forget the so-called "true" oldies. I'm sorry, but that's reality.
