Scott Sharpe enters on-air staff at WDHT

Interesting...Hmmm?

What direction could this station take? The same? Or, perhaps...a little different?

Time will tell...

What surprises me is that Power 1075 out of Columbus sounds more rhythmic than HOT 1029 does and Power usually classifies themselves as "Urban". Obviously 107 has to lean rhythmic to steal some of the WNCI audience. HOT 1029 is different though.. their competition is now WDKF, which has nothing on 1029. WDKF sounds horrible these days so we'll see what Scott can come up with. I predict a Hits & Hip-Hop direction. Although, I love their new imaging package.

I agree. The research said that a full leaning Rhythmic CHR would do better than a Top 40 or Urban station. So Hits and Hip Hop is my best bet. They have been adding more Justin Timberlake and Alicia Keys as of recent.

Good for Scott. He's a really nice guy and he's been at 717 E. David Rd. for 10+ years, starting at the bottom as Morning Show producer with Sean Roberts and Kim Faris and working his way up to MD and eventually PD/afternoons of Z-93. I wish him all the best. One of the "good guys" in the business. 8)
P.S. Correct spelling of his name is Scott Sharp with no "e". ;D

Unfortunately, I don't think it will happen. It should've happened by now. HOT could really blow stations out the water.. they're falling in the ratings now.
