Scott Sloan is back - the uh-fest begins again.

An honest question to those of you in the radio business... how does someone get a 3 hour talk show on a 50K watt radio station when they can't string a sentence together without "uh" "uh "uh"?

Do they listen to themselves at all? Maybe this only matters to me? Does it annoy anyone else?

They get paid to talk. Speaking without stuttering is not all that difficult. I do it every day, albeit to a much smaller audience.

Is the ability to speak without "uh"-ing a desirable skill in radio?

Yea it bothers me also.

Be thankful for the 'uhs'. Without them Sloan would be talking so fast your ears would bleed.

Not that I listen to him anymore.

Ever since Jones entered that station's line-up it's been a mess.

Why they keep that guy on the air is a mystery to me.

What I find so funny is that Darryl Parks claims to be some sort of "talent coach" for Clear Channel, and this is the result. Frankly, the afternoon show on WHAS is far worse than anything on WLW. Perhaps they should send Sloanie to Louisville.

You must be talking about WLW:

If so, yes this is hard to fathom.

Sloanie solo is unlistenable. Teamed with Jones he did an admirable job. Say what you will about Tracy Jones but the common thread of solid ratings in the afternoon drive for WLW over several line-up changes has been Tracy Jones. Jonesy will say the stuff we're all thinking-he makes that afternoon gig work. Tracy Jones is THE MAN.

Richard from Indian Hill, you're on.
He really is the go to guy when the phone lines aren't lighting up. I can't beleive some people actually think he's a real person.

I wonder if they are paid by WLW? It couldn't be much if they are. Here are a few the fake ones. I'm sure there are many more.

Nick from Loveland Richard from Indian Hill. Rodney from Norwood.

Eric Deters said that Richard from Indian Hill and Nick from Loveland are brothers and gave their real names on his show around 2 months ago. (while outing them as fake callers)

Eric must have gotten in trouble because now he says that he isn't allowed to talk about certain people any more. He doesn't mention Darryl Parks real last name any more either.

Speaking of fake callers, there actually used to be one I enjoyed listening to.

Seg's neighbor, in Middletown, who ran the lawn mower repair shop. I can't recall his name anymore.

Sadly, I think he was killed in that motorcycle accident.

I know none of you will believe me...but 'Rod from Norwood' is a real person..I actually met him at a Reds game last year...

It makes it even worse when you have guys like Marc Amazon who claim they know Richard personally and have attended parties at his house. Seriously, come on.

Seg's neighbor was played by the late Mr. K who worked midday's at WEBN.

What about "and and and and" of Lance? Sounds like he's getting wound up or something. He's very annoying, too. Don't listen to him, either.

It bothers the crap out of me, and I posted about this soon after he began there. I can't believe he stays on the air when guys like Doc Thompson gets canned! As for sending Sloan to Louisville, NO THANK YOU!

Yea it bothers me also.
