Scott Stanford to WINS-AM/FM as new morning anchor

Radio Insight reports Scott Stanford is joining WINS-AM/FM as morning news anchor starting September 5, 2023 along with Susan Richard. It would appear he will be the bottom of the hour anchor.

An interesting choice given his broadcasting background including WWE and the wealth of talent already at WINS.

If I were PD and wanted to bring in an outside talent, Ken Rhodes might have been my first choice as he has already paid his penance for his remark toward a co-worker. This of course would depend on how toxic he is still considered.

Thoughts?

Their half hour morning drive anchor set up is interesting. At sister station KYW in Philly one morning anchor does 5-6 AM solo, both morning anchors jointly anchor 6-9 AM and the 2nd morning anchor does 9-10 AM solo.

The anchor schedule is half hours for all shifts, except overnights.

Prior to about 2013, it was 3-anchors, each with a 20 minute news block, working longer shifts. AMs/PMs/Evenings/and solo overnight. To some degree, this was a smoother sound with one anchor working across the whole :20-:40 news block.
