Scott Systems

I called the makers of Imediatouch about their automation software and they got back to me with a proposal. I explained that I was familiar with Scott Systems and that their software looked very similar. They explained to me that this is because an employee from Imedia started Scott Systems and stole the design, and every time Scott Systems makes a sale Imedia gets part of the money due to a lawsuit.

The Imediatouch looks better and seems to be cheaper and am impressed with the trial.

Just thought the info was humorous.

I'm about 90% sure that story is a fish story. Dave Scott (who started Scott Studios) was a pioneer of hard-disk based automation in about 1993 or 94. Scott was bought out by some larger company, but Dave continued to work for "his" company until 1999 or 2000.

Anyway, my point is Scott existed before iMedia did.

Dave Scott has a new company with an even better product.

I just checked their website. I'm not sure I like the idea of proprietary hardware. I would prefer to buy my own computers on trade and then use a program with that. We do that with Simian, which runs all three of our stations.
