Scotty Ray and Debbie?

Hey, I know I've been out of the Meridian market for a little while, but I have just heard that Scotty Ray and Debbie weren't on the air anymore and havent been for several months. What happened there? I am sure this topic has been discussed, but I couldn't find a post for it. Just wondering what all happened and who was doing mornings for "Miss 101?"
 
All I know is that they walked out. I'm not sure what they're up to now but they got fed up and quit (so I've heard).

BTW, Marcus, I saw your at the M-Braves game last Saturday against Huntsville. Would have said "hi" but you were busy. Good job on the mic.

This is sad news to hear about Scotty Ray and Debbie. How is it that legends of Meridian radio can't seem to hold on these days? Surely with SR&D's contacts within the community, all of the local business owners are boycotting the new MISS 101. I knew for sure WOKK was headed to bankruptcy after the separations. WOKK's day for collapse has to be near. Now I add MISS 101 to the list. How dare any station management instruct them to play under any rules than their own. Who does management and ownership think they are? SR&D almost won a CMA award. They are not replaceable, they know good radio for the Queen City and no one else does. Listeners will give up country music if they can't have a little SR&D to go with it. Advertisers will support these on air personalities because, without their endorsements, they will loose their fists full of cash. Once at WOKK when SR&D were up for the CMA award, there was this huge line of advertisers lined up outside the station's front door with cash in hand to buy commercials on their show. SR&D had to turn people away from getting on the radio!!!!!! Who has ever accomplished such a feet??? Not having SR&D host your morning show is missing out on all the country listeners, big revenue and subjecting your station to possible bankruptcy.

People tell me that when you hire SR&D for the morning show, here is what they will deliver:

Music the way they want to play it.

Long boring breaks with hardly any purpose.

The time announced 50,000 times.

Contests with contestants who can barely compose a complete sentence.

Huge ego's that barely fit into the front door.

Long lunches [EDIT]

Staff disassociation - no one will like catering to them.

Constant cigarette smoking breaks at station events to avoid the barely English speaking fans.

Drama - you have a laugh at them and they will try to get you fired.

Lawsuits - when it is not going their way, it’s not the highway for them - it's the lawsuit way; guarantee they won't like your severance. Because they have built such stature, you can bet without doubt that, in some form, someone on your staff harassed them - probably sexually. [EDIT]

Please - SR is much better than delivering milk. [EDIT] Get them on the radio and employed with your company now!

.....still grinding that same old axe I see......focus more on being "great Ms. dj "and less on this ..... life is too short. Do something positive with your life.
