Is it me, or are those "TVG", "TVPGDSL", etc ratings icons getting larger and larger and appearing every time a show returns from a break? it's bad enough we have channel icons in the corner of the screen, crawl lines going across the bottom, split screens, and "Squeese" credits the size of a postage stamp zipping by while they give you the news and everything else comming up in the next three-and-a-half hours. With all the clutter on the screen, it's no wonder big screen, high definition TVs are not selling as fast as they should. Why shell out big bucks to see all this crap on the big screen in clearer detail? Not me.

Yep...not only are they bigger (covering nearly 20% of the screen on some networks, I've noticed) but also appear at the beginning of every single segment after commercial breaks. The only thing missing now is an ear piercing sound effect whenever that bug appears on the screen. Stay tuned...it's only a matter of time.

Read the ORIGINAL thread on this subject from about ten days ago.
It wasn't the FCC's doing, it was the NCTA.

Since some R-I boards, like this one, are very active, it may be helpful to develop the habit of looking at the posting dates of threads when determining how far back to look. Doing so in this case would have likely caused you to realize the need to look back three or four pages to get the full scope of what has been recently discussed.

No, the V-chip is activated by a signal sent in the vertical blanking interval, IIRC.
