Scripps Winning With New Game Shows

This article is misleading. They only mention Cincinnati, which is Scripps' home market and one of their strongest stations. On the other hand, in Phoenix, they're in the race for last place among English-language stations in the slots they placed the new shows in.

Cheaper, yes. But the ad rates will still drop to the point they won't make as much money even with all the spot inventory to themselves. You don't try unproven product on weak stations--and Scripps has their share of underachievers.

We picked up Wheel when Scripps (KSHB) let it go. On Tuesday, Wheel rated a 7.7, first in the time period. Let's Ask America finished fourth, with a 2.9, and that's among the best ratings Let's Ask America has had in this market so far. Sometimes it finishes fifth or sixth behind sitcom reruns on other stations.

Since the writer, Michael Malone, appears to ignored doing any research on the story but just used the information provided by Scripps, write him and give him some of your city ratings for these two fine programs. [email protected]

is that total views or the 18-49ers claimed those game shows didn't get enough of?

"The List" gets clobbered by "Judge Judy" and "Let's Ask America" trails reruns of "The Big Bang Theory" and "Two and a Half Men" on the Mynetwork and CW stations in Phoenix, respectively. And those sitcoms are extremely popular amongst the 18-49 demo.
