The janitor (Neil Flynn) has a new series with Patricia Heaton called Middle on ABC and Christa Miller (Jordan wife/ex-wife of Dr. Cox) is part of the cast of ABC's Cougar Town. Wonder if they will be available for Scrubs when it resumes.
So Comedy Central will air new episodes of Scrubs mid season instead of ABC?

Scrubs Season 9 (aka Scrubs 2.0) will be on ABC later this year. The focus changes from Sacred Heart Hospital to a medical school with Dr. Cox (John McGinley) and Dr. Turk (Donald Faison) as instructors. Other former Scrubs' regulars will make a certain number of appearances during the season including J.D. (Zach Braff) and Elliott Reid (Sarah Chalke).

I am disappointed, because I enjoyed the new cast and saw potential. Their mistake was in continuing it as "Scrubs", when it should have been a spin-off.
I tried "Scrubs 2.0" after about three episodes, and had enough...just couldn't get into it. Like with other recent shows I've watched, I didn't get into Scrubs until hit syndication, playing catch up. The dynamic of the show changed so much, IMO, it lost me.

Um, huh? NBC would want a sequel to a show they cancelled for lack of ratings...and that was never a hit on the order of Cheers (to use the Fraiser example)? It's not even a remotely comparable situation.

Its questionable if "Scrubs" was really a victim of ratings at NBC, or simply a move to dump the Touchstone property, which would make NBC no money in syndication versus in house sitcoms like "30 Rock" and "Parks & Recreation". Neither of these shows has really been lighting up the Nielsens, but they will be far more profitable to the network in the long run.

Yes, if there's a decent market for "Parks" & "Community," it's most certainly to NBC's advantage. But even when there's a natural skew towards owned programs, any network will keep a hit they have the rights to regardless of studio. CBS managed to milk something out of Medium, but it, too, had begun a decline on NBC. Scrubs had its passionate and vocal fan base, but it was a mid-range hit at its peak. If it had been on the order of Friends, to pick one example, NBC wouldn't have sent it packing just because it wasn't part of the extended family.
Very true, it was always a mid-range hit, although it managed to finish a season at #16 with an average of 12 million viewers a week when it followed "Friends". It certainly gave up a sizable amount of the "Friends" audience, though, and we know its all about retention.
I would say that is was also a victim of being constantly moved around, and not given a chance to really grow at a stable time period. However, as big of a fan as I am of "Scrubs", I am also willing to admit that it wasn't everyone's cup of tea, and it would never find the sizable audiences of sitcoms like "Friends". Isn't that really the problem with all of these single camera, no laugh track comedies, though? Trying name a ratings giant out of the bunch (Scrubs, Arrested Development, the Office, 30 Rock, Better Off Ted, Sons & Daughters- the list goes on and on)
