Seabreeze 106.3

Had the opportunity to listen to the Seabreeze in Destin. WOW, what 9 months can do since the last time i heard them. Some (probably 3 per hour) had me reaching for the dial however I toughed it out and thoroughly enjoyed listening to the rest.

I know it was reported here somewhere that the local owner dumped BA few months ago. Big difference!

Took a stroll over to their website and took a look at today's playlist

It's miles better than BA. It almost looks like a playlist from WZTK who offers Dial Global smooth jazz on weekends ( non-anchored).

What I meant to say was 3 vocals. And they weren't terribly bad. 2 of them I started negative on them but by the end really enjoyed the song.

They do have a good station there in Destin. I listen from time to time and enjoy listening to them. Folks should take a listen.

Local programming! What a concept  Looking over their playlists and seeing names that haven't showed up on a commercial radio playlist in years (except for my brunch-lol).. While my thing is a more uptempo and less riff/more hook-driven concept I live in an area that is different demographically from where this station is great music mix from the relaxing side of the spectrum.

Unfortunately I don't share Marks hope that there will be more independent ownership. The corporate mammoths are entrenched even though they are bleeding money...don't see a return to local ownership because locals can rarely compete on the streets wtih the clusters and purchasing a station is far beyond the budgetary realm of most individuals or small companies.
