I am more of a talk, sports, news listener so I don't listen much to those three stations. I do spend time listening to WTSN and the WGIR/WGIN/WGIP stations. I have been impressed with WTSN's continued focus on local stuff. WTSN spends more time on local news than anyone else and they were the only ones broadcasting live high school sports over the winter. WTSN is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and its continued focus on local happenings is probably a big reason for its ability to continue for half a century?

On the other hand, there is the matter of them carrying the New York Yankees!!

Any why not? An FM station in Rhode Island carries them. WSTC-AM 1400 of Stamford, CT and WNLK-AM 1350 of Norwalk, CT, both in southern Fairfield County, deep into New York Yankees territory, have carried the Red Sox before.
______________

They say "keep your friends close and your enemies closer," right?

In 2003, the cluster I used to work for in NH carried the Yankees on their AM sports simulcast for a season. It raised a few eyebrows undoubtedly at first. A few listeners of the sister FM even called and complained and said "I refuse to support a company that supports the enemy!" I knew plenty of Red Sox fans who would tune from time to time to keep tabs on the Yankees while the Sox would be in a spot break. I know I did in that turbulent '03 season.

They decided to pursue the NH Fishercats the following season and ultimately the Yankees ended up on a much more powerful FM station, where they remain today. Whoops.
______________

And I thought I was the only guy who listened to AM radio! Although I'm not a big fan of their Yankees games, WTSN is one of the last remaining community oriented radio stations in New Hampshire. They are big on local news and community broadcast. The seacoast area is lucky to have 'em
