Seacrest Gone from Star 94

Good move, Star 94. I sincerely hope this is the beginning of a trend among the dozens (hundreds?) of CHR stations carrying his show. It sounds so laborious in time slots which should be loaded with music.

That's funny, considering Atlanta is Ryan's hometown. I bet Groove 105.7 might pick him up.

He's learned the lesson from Howard Stern. It's the usual shuck and jive HS does at every contract negotiation. Ryan Seacrest Productions would fall apart without the radio leg. The man cannot live on Kardashian reality shows and spinoffs.

The point that Ryan could end up on the Groove is absolutely correct.

Nyte? I loved your response. Seacrest playing The Gap Band? Hehehe. Would he play "You Dropped A Bomb on Me" or "Party Train" ???? Star may need to sell some of those "Big T" chairs to The Groove, then.

How long ago did Star start sinking, a decade now? More like water torture.

How funny! I heard that Gap Band song this morning on Power 98.3 where hip hop (used to) live! It does stand out in a mix of old school hip hop hits, but I guess if your old school hip hop & r&b mix is from 6-7am on KKFR, you could get away with it. I'm not knocking anyone - you know me! - The more mixes, the better!

Hmmm... maybe Star could be like KKFR and do a back in the day mix from 6-7am, then a 7-7:30am traffic jam, 8-8:30am traffic jam, and a 9-9:30am traffic jam! That surely would be interesting..... ;D

CBS has what CC can't offer him. A television development deal to go along with morning radio. He could be going to AMP radio in LA once his non-compete is done then rather than working with E! head over the CBS with a real prime time show of his own. Either way he wins. CC will step up with $$$$ along with E! or CBS gives him the farm. I don't think Star dropping his show will bother him too much.

Yes, but CC is big enough and in the business enough to share him with someone, unlike Lincoln Financial who wants out.

LF might also be slimming down Star 94 for a sale. The trick is if LF can keep Star 94 fresh enough without Seacrest. I'm sure the beancounters are looking all over WSTR for what would contribute to a sale price above PPE+license (i.e., Star 94 as a "going concern"), and what would not. Not that they would have as much of a clue as they think they do.
