Seacrest to buy out dick clark productions, inc.

The very busy DJ from L.A.'s Top 40 KIIS-FM, Host of "American Idol", Host of "E-News Live!", & producer of several Kardashin shows is eyeing out plans to buy dick clark productions, inc.(dcp) from Daniel Snyder's Red Zone Capital Management, LLC. dcp produces The AMA's & Rockin' New Year's eve for ABC, The Golden Globe Awards for NBC, and The ACM Awards for CBS. Seacrest has several operations located on Wilshire Boulevard, Including E! Studios, KIIS-FM, and Seacrest Media Productions.

Wow. 20 years ago he's scratching to buy a candy bar..............look at him now. He's bought
the candy bar factory!

dick clark productions really do have a strong television history; They also produce, with 19 Entertainment, for FOX-"So You Think You Can Dance?" Hosted by Cat Deeley, who is pulling double-duty with her dating game show, "The Choice". dcp started out producing "American Bandstand"-which happens to remain itself as a true Television Classic.

Well, with Mr. Clark now gone, there's no reason to tune in on New Year's Eve anymore anyways. That just seals the deal. :(

I think Seacrest will be the permanent host of New Year's Rockin' Eve. However, with a full plate going on right now, He still has time with his girlfriend, Julianne Hough.

At his peak in the 80s, Clark was hosting multiple TV and radio shows, including the weekly Bandstand, weekly Bloopers, and the daily Pyramid, plus multiple specials and awards shows. On the radio, he had the National Music Survey and Rock Roll & Remember both on the air at the same time from two different syndicators.

Clark and Seacrest were in discussions about reviving Bandstand in 2004 when Dick suffered his stroke, and the show never materialized. I imagine that if Seacrest gets his hands on the copyright, he will carry out what he & Dick had planned to do 8 years ago.

I think a new Bandstand would fly. Ryan enjoys music. It sounds more like a cable show than
network though.

That may be...Bandstand was on USA Networks in its final year. Seacrest could use this with his new NBC deal.

The article only lists Seacrest among the bidders. I wonder if Dick's son RAC would also make a bid. RAC produces the Academy of Country Music Awards for dcp, as well as other country specials.

What cable network will take Bandstand today? Or Will it be more like the New Dance Party From KOFY-TV 20 San Francisco? That is that Bandstand/Dance Party will be franchised to various markets around the nation. All with various local hosts.

I imagine that if Seacrest gets his hands on the copyright the Estate of Dick Clark will pretty much wipe out Seacrest's fortunes.

If it's so easy, why don't more DJs do it? Ryan is the Howard Stern of this decade. Only other DJ who's expanded his footprint is Carson Daily. And yes, both Carson and Ryan are in LA, and that helps. But it does show that opportunities are there.

And both Ryan & Carson are great talent show hosts. Ryan is like a cleaner version of Howard Stern, and Stern is judge on "America's Got Talent" because Stern has an R-Rated mouth.
