Hey Most...Ryan is where he is due to one person, and thats Ryan. Sure Merv gave him a shot at TV, and Ryan's insane work ethic is what made him the annoying TV personality we all love to hate. Alot of people in this city get the shot at TV, and most dont make it, and end up bitter at the people that do make it. Hmm?? Just a thought.
Hey Big...Ryan is where he is due to Merv. Merv not only got him into tv but he got him his radio gigs in both San Francisco and Los Angeles (and is still "involved" with him). Ryan is not a self made man (?). Merv made him - in more ways than one :)

He sucks--can we quit the spittle now? Manufactured never works.

Again Most, it seems your talking out of your glutimus maximus. Merv had nothing to do with Ryan coming to LA. He didnt even meet Merv until he was in LA. The reason he went to SF after being in LA was a money issue, and it just so happen it was convenient at the time, because he had a show with CNET called CLICK, that happen to tape in SF. Coming back to LA was again money motivated. Merv got him the shot in TV, and had absolutely nothing to do with his radio career. I worked with Ryan the first time and the second time at Star. So I've talked to him about his starts in radio and tv. I dont know where your getting your sorry info. Stop hatin dude, it makes you sound pitiful.

Way over here in the northeast...the 1st time I saw Seacrest was a few years ago on the Radio Music Awards, running around with a microphone...I remember very clearly Ryan talking to people in the audience..all stars in the radio world...the biggest laugh he got was when he stopped to talk to Rick Dees (he won 'Radio Personality of the Year' that year)...Ryan asked "what's number 1 Rick?"...Rick didn't seem happy with the question or the laughter...an omen perhaps? No doubt Dees is still a superstar, but on his way down for sure. Congrats to Ryan! I expect him to be around a while...as long as he doesn't release an album or go on tour! :p

I'm sorry that you don't know how Ryan got his jobs but that is your problem. Obviously, if you really did talk to Ryan, he didn't tell you the truth. I know the truth and it isn't the nonsense you are trying to make us believe. And it makes you sound totally uninformed.

How does Seacrest even have time to sleep?

KIIS mornings, AT40, E News TV, Idol, TV commercials - no wonder you never see him in the tablods with a chick- he doesn't have any free time

Umm, that's not the reason :)

ROFL!!

WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! I just spat Diet Coke all over my monitor!

Listen just because a man frosts his hair, gets pedicures, is slimmer than Giselle Bundchen, and..............AAAAAAahhhhhhhhhhh nevermind,..........Yeah he's waaaaay to busy WORKING to be seen in the tabloids with chicks. I admire his thrift!.

:D

He is where he is today due to one person ----> Merv Griffin -Ryan's "American Idol"...enough said...

Didn't Merv do the same, uhhhhhhhh SPONSOR Denny Terrio too?. Yeah that guy too was a "Disco dancing, Streisand ticket holding, Oscar Wilde reading, Friend of Dorothy"

:D

I met Merv back in 98 working on a show he was a guest on. Back then Merv was "touting" and "pushing" Ryan's name to anyone that would listen.

One guess who was in tow with Merv that night. Seacrest out!

I think that Ryan Secrest is a solid, fun jock who thrives in an environment where substance is not at a premium. He knows that and he's good at it. And the Merv Griffin stuff is quite salaciuous but...wahtever it takes, eh?

I worked for Merv Griffin. The stories are true.

Another interesting story about Ryan is how his people paid to get him a Hollywood girlfriend and he couldn't make that look for real. Then she just disappeared.
