Not disagreeing with you, but interested in an example of what type of programming could make radio great again? Rush, Stern, Colin Cowherd is good, classic rock, top 40 and everything in between. What could a programmer do to bring greatness? If you answwer is 'get real talent', then please give me some examples of great talent that would revive radio, any format. Sincerely, I am interested in your opinion
 
It really is no surprise that this country is where it is, with the mindsets the same as the two of you, Outlaw and Nik.
I guess I should have known it was a losing battle when you both admitted your were fans of The Fan.
That is when I should have known logic would fall on deaf ears.

I'll say it again, radio personailities should not be responding by text to listeners who disagree or rip them. They can't win.

I heard Sean yesterday say he is no longer allowed to respond to texts. I guess management had to step in and issue a warning and tell him to stop fighting w/ listeners or he'd be out of a job.

This is big (but not suprising!) news. Spit it out, Richard. What do you know? Again, big claim but how do ya back it up? Pissing off listeners is one thing, but freaking out fellow employees is another.

Who knows if that deadspin article is even true, after all it is a "rumor"

Until either Sean, Bigby, or anyone else comes out and says it is true it shouldn't be taken as fact ISaidSo and Rodzilla.

It sucks that he is gone, cause he showed how stupid some people can be.

Oh well.
 
Well, no mention of Salisbury anymore on the website and his former slot is now labeled generically as "The Afternoon Show" with no host/s cited. Man, is that place eating itself alive or what? Never listened the "the Fan" because, well, I like listenable radio so no matter to me but I find the predicament over there interesting.

What now? They gonna try to steal some more spare weekend shows from the Ticket and try to convince everyone it's primetime talent? That's always worked so well for them after all......
 
Also noticed on the website that Pete Stein and Mike Rodriguez have been let go and replaced by Arnie Spanier. And I am assuming that Dan O'Malley is out too.

As of Friday when Sean was let go. Dan was still on at the same time, so it may be another Dan & Friends show.
 
I don't think it is fair to anyone to speculate but it sounds like SS is out by all accounts. I will hold my comments until someone reports the facts.

IF what is rumored is true, it is sad. Why would you destroy your career over something so silly, again? BUT at the same time, I never give my number to anyone I don't want contacting me in any manner.

I do remember hearing, allegedly, that something similar happened with Sean at ESPN radio, allegedly.

Barry Horn is reporting that working at the fan was costing Sean opportunities to make more money elsewhere and Richie Whitt is saying that a conflict of his schedule and with management was the reason.

Sounds reasonable to me, two days before he was to be the lead guy on the pre-game show on the new flagship station, but reasonable still the same.
