Sean Salisbury

evening times said:
Skippy,

Barry Horn is reporting that working at the fan was costing Sean opportunities to make more money elsewhere and Richie Whitt is saying that a conflict of his schedule and with management was the reason.

Sounds reasonable to me, two days before he was to be the lead guy on the pre-game show on the new flagship station, but reasonable still the same.

The question, as a reporter, that Horn should have asked, and did not, was what other opportunities would interfere with Salisbury's schedule at "The Fan".

All of the stuff reported may or may not be true, but rumors can be potentially libelous. The only effective defense against a libel suit is ... the truth.

OMG.... You think that he took the gig and forgot to check his schedule? What else is doing? name one thing! He was busted again, and got fired. Managment would not have put him in that spot, along with Cowboy coverage then let him go under contract because he had schedule problems. He was fired period.BTW: How about Whitt! he takes a check from CBS and writes what they tell him to. Just like he did when he was trying to get a gig at the Ticket, and sat on Greggo story until they gave him the green light. Talk about a joke, he is the biggest punch line!!!!

The other (or an other) way to look at is is this:
How little were they paying Sean that he needed the other things to make money so (sic)"that the Fan was costing Sean the opportunities to make money elsewhere".

If you're paying your AFTERNOON DRIVE JOCK a decent wage, does he need to go out and do a bunch of conflicting OTHER things, that you know, conflict with his main job?

Somebody pointed this out on Horn's blog (or Whitt's blog) (hard to tell crap from crap sometimes) that at least with the Ticket guys you know that's their main gig. They may have bands or do blogs, but their main gig is radio.

ESPN has Michael, taking time off (so I'm told) to do reality TV. Galloway doing a column, etc.

While The Fan's total sports credibility consists of a TV host, a writer who's never done sports talk radio on a regular basis, and a guy who was Russ's talk show producer (i.e., not even a sports show) a year ago...

Technology is not his friend. He needs to throw that phone away.

Why would a grown man use "ur" for "your" and "r" for "are" in an e-mail that he knows will be published? I got ****** chills just reading his emails. Have some grammer pride, for God's sake. "Are" is just 2 extra letters.

And some here thought it was ok for him to get into arguments with texters.

It's ok to get into arguments with people with differing opinions man; texting, conversing, emailing it's fine to argue.

The emails are over the top.

Once, I sent an email to someone.

The reply: "Man, you use grammar ... and everything."
