Searching for CP FOR SALE

We're interested in purchasing a CP--ideally in Small Market California--and our budget is in the 250K range. Does anyone know of anything?

Ken

Have you contacted any of those who won CPs in the last three FM auctions? I noticed that there were several CA CPs that were obtained for under 200K. Maybe they might want to sell and make a few thousand. Their e-mail addresses are on their applications.

There is, of course, the infamous Boonville CP that Wilbur Johnson is trying to sell for 365K. I say 'infamous' because it has been listed on several sites. He orginally paid 267K at FM auction #62 which I believe was in 2004. I noticed that the FCC listed that he was in default of payment on this particular CP. But it still shows that it is for sale on Ted Grey's site.

Mr. Johnson, if he owns the CP at all, may be desperate to sell and might be agreeable to taking less.

A CP in Boonville, CA. Now that is really rich! Have any of you been to Boonville, CA.? If you blink your ten miles north or south of town. What there is of it that is! lol lol lol.......All that is there is the fairgrounds.

Ken,

I am aware of two CPs that are available, but neither is in California. One is
a C1 covering part of Colorado and the other is a Class C3 covering areas of Nebraska.
The owner is asking $250k each or $450k for both.

I'm not associated with this owner in any way..info just came across my desk today.

If you need more details, email me and I'll send it along.

Actually, I have been to Boonville. Driving back from Mendocino, I took the 128 which cuts through the town. You're right, there's a cafe, a gas station and not much else.

With a 6 Kw signal (which is what this CP is for) you might be able to get into the city of Ukiah as well as serve some of the small towns along Hwy 1 or the 101. But, as you know, the terrain around Boonville is mountainous and heavily wooded so I imagine that the antenna would have to be large, high and fire-safe.

So get it, then move it. My guess it would be worth it, else the price tags on these unbuilt facilities would not be so much.
