> They flipped earlier because KPLZ started to play Christmas

Wake up. Warm flipped at 3pm Friday and KPLZ didn't play their first Christmas song until 5pm Friday.
And you're saying that KPLZ is worried about what Warm 106.9 does? Please. KPLZ's audience wants nothing to do with all Celine Dion, Elton John and Phil Collins all the time.
Warm has always flipped this time of the year. They did it the weekend before Thanksgiving last year and they did it again this year. Other ACs across the country did the same thing on Thursday and Friday....KOST in LA and WASH in Washington DC did too, to name a couple.
WARM is all Christmas music and KPLZ plays four or
> five an hour. Stupid move on KPLZ's part.
Based on what?
> Now MIX 92.5 is
> the only real Adult Top 40 in the market. After taking two
> shares from KBKS, MIX will now be able to take a couple from
> KPLZ.
Yeah right. A couple of years ago, it was "Mix is gonna kill KPLZ." Then after they floundered in that effort, it was "let's go after Kiss." Now you're saying they're going after KPLZ again? If you think the readers of this board's heads are spinning, just imagine what the listeners are feeling.
If you were to lay a bet down on who will survive, would you bet on a station that doesn't market itself or an established station that does research and markets itself? My money is on the latter, and that's what KPLZ does.
KLSY is in full retreat mode and is just throwing things on the wall to see what sticks. Their demos are spread and inconsistent...the sales community doesn't know who to sell to because of that.
Further, I'm guessing they won't play much Christmas music, thinking that's the smart thing to do. Granted, there are a handful of listeners who probably don't want to hear Christmas music, but they are just that -- a handful.
> KCMS will begin playing Christmas music soon.
And the sun is going to rise again tomorrow. What's your point?
Anyone
> else want to join in??? How about a JACK Christmas? Adam
> Sandler, Bob Rivers and more.
They'll probably want to play Christmas music too. If they want to prove themselves as not being cookie cutter, they'd be playing Christmas music in July.
Funny how KPLZ has moved more
> AC leaving MIX a wide berth to grab CHR and HOT/AC audience.
Funny how KPLZ is ahead of KLSY too. They have shifted just a tad softer only because KLSY abandoned its core audience long ago. Smart move on KPLZ's part.
> I do like the JACK Christmas concept. Thoughts?
Think of it this way, which station does NOT play Adam Sandler and Bob Rivers during Christmas?
