Seattle checks in with nice numbers

The trends for Seattle look very nice. JACK had already grabbed the adult crown and now is #6 with a 3.9 (not too shabby going from a sad 1.2 as KROCK last winter).

Not being from there, I'm not aware of what Krock was up against.
Is the demand for rock dead there?, or were other rock outlets simply meeting the needs of the rocker better?<P ID="signature">______________

96.5 had been a number of things in the past couple of years, KROCK was only the latest. Seattle is a town with a Alternative, a AAA, an Active Rocker, a classic hits station and a classic rocker currently. JACK has lifted audience from a number of stations including KPLZ who have gone from a high (dealing just with 12+ numbers here) of 2.7 down to 1.8 in this trend.

I was out there in September and JACK sounded excellent (yeah, I'm biased but they were doing a great job with the format).

K-rock was a classic alternative station (in competition with KNDD). before that...80's....before that....young country (i could go on....)
