Just checked out the full set of ratings at Radio Online dot com. KVI has now increased to a 4/10 of a share point, up 3/10 of a share point. With only about three weeks of the book being conservative talk, a 75% increase is noteworthy. They may yet get back into the mid 1's or low 2's. Give them a month or two.

KVI looks very strong, especially in mornings. 6+ is pretty flat for the market as a whole and no real change at the top of the core demos in prime 6a-7p dayparts. KISW remains number one in adults and men, as usual KPLZ number one in women and number two in adults. KISW mornings dominates every male demo sometimes by double digit margins. KPLZ mornings dominates every female dem sometimes by double digit margins. by the way, KMCQ has doubled or tripled it's numbers in core demos and in many female demos now beats KJR-FM. May put an end to the endless posts on that station. Seems to be working just fine now.

Big ups and downs:

KMPS now beating KKWF
KIRO-A well ahead of KJR AM/FM (the simulcast does not appear to help)
KUOW up, KIRO and KOMO down (could be national election bump?)

What I don't quite understand, why did 100.7 drop an entire share this month? A tenth of a point is acceptable for a month, but a hole share?

Looks like the Country lifegroup is down over the last couple of months. Both KMPS and KKWF have dropped. Could be music, meters or both. KKWF dropped more because the mornings took a big dive, while KMPS picked up some of the listenership, especially younger listeners. Once Fitz left the market the show is less local, more generic. Listenership is in steep decline especially in younger demos.

Notice the big gain for KCMS. Country shares a great deal with the Christian music lifegroup, which might explain things a bit. Tough thing about current music radio is that you are somewhat dependent on appeal of the music available. If it is not strong you lose listeners and unless you have other elements (contests, morning shows) to keep people around it can be tough at times.

Dont forget that KGY-FM (KAYO)down in the south sound has been doing really well. Have not seen numbers but KAYO has a strong street buzz and could suck substantial cume from the other two country boys in town. The station covers half the market and has a much friendlier, casual approach to the format. I'm just saying...

So you're telling me, Fitz and his group are either voice tracked, or in another state?!? KKWF definitely is losing PPM points if this is happening...
